
POLICY STATEMENT
The following areas of concern are considered desirable for funding by the Foundation. Emphasis is placed on organizations engaged in Catholic endeavors. Eligibility is limited to organizations within the following five Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo. No gifts are made to individuals.
| A. | Organizations devoted to education in the fields of art and music. | |||
| B. | Catholic elementary and high schools. | |||

Applications for special programs as well as requests for general operating support will be considered. |

| D. | Capital requests are eligible for consideration. | |||
| E. |
The foundation will consider other worthwhile programs that serve broad community purposes, leading towards the improvement of the quality of life for the disadvantaged. Agencies serving at-risk and minority youth, families, or the elderly are of particular interest. |

To be eligible for consideration, organizations must meet the following criteria:
| • | be a corporate non-profit organization; | |||
| • | qualify for tax exemption by the State in which said organization or institution is incorporated; | |||
| • | be a organization to which contributions are deductible by donors for income tax purposes, generally of the type described in Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 and the corresponding Sections of the 1939 Code and prior Revenue Acts; | |||
| • | be classified as a non-private foundation pursuant to the 1969 Tax Reform Acts; | |||
| • | have an annual financial audit in accordance with approved accounting practices. | |||
Organizations wishing to apply for a grant should address a brief letter of intent to the Foundation indicating the nature of the program and/or specific project for which funding is sought.
